History was made tonight as America elected the first African-American man as President of the United States. I thank God for America and what she stands for. Whoever is in office, it is still America. The land of the free and the home of the brave.
I will say that both campaigns were gracious in their acceptance and conceding speeches. No throwing names but both parties saying that it is time for American to move forward together. Even though I didn't get who I wanted in office, it still is awesome that America has this freedom to vote and choose who you want. Thank God for this freedom.
Congratulations Mr. Obama on making history.

Tyler, I must admit you have a better attitude about this than I. I'm excited to have our first black President, but I just wish he was Republican...I truly believe Obama's agenda/ideas/decisions marks the Beginning of the End for our nation as we now know it. We need to pray for our country, because the freedom you speak of will be know more within 30 or 40 years, is my sad prediction.
I hope I'm wrong, but I believe the repercussions of this vote will be felt for years to come. I guess we can just focus on winning souls and preparing for End Times.
I of course didn't vote for our new president elect but I am an American and thus I must accept the choice America has made. I am an optimist I always have been so I am believing that things are going to be just fine. Already Mr. Obama has made some choices and statements that I must applaud him for. I am excited to be a part of history in the making!
Janell,
I agree with you on the basis that I dont come into alignment with his ideas, principles, decisions, or agenda, but on the other hand the basic point I was trying to make was that he is still the President of the US and whether we agree with uim or not, we still honor that office.
I dont agree with Obama's ideas nor morals (I personally dont think he shares the same concepts of morals that Christians do)and yes I do fear that he will do more damage than good.
It wont take long before the public grasps what they have done. Remember, it wansnt two years into office when Bill Clinton was elected that the public saw that it was becoming a socialistic society and booted out the Democrat Majority in congress and it took a swing in the Republican direction.
What the Republicans need to do now is start developing a strategy that provides a comeback in 4 years. The problem with this election was, that even the Republicans didnt want McCain in. His campaign was one of the most terrible run campaigns I have ever seen. Until Sarah Palin came in, he didnt have a chance in the world to win, and even when she came in, he still didnt have much of a chance.
The truth is when it comes down to it, people are tired of the Iraq war and want out. When we are spending 12 billion per month and they have 87 billion in the bank and our country is in the middle of a financial crisis, it just doesnt seem to be right.
So yes if he stays in office, government will get bigger, taxes will go up, and people will become less satisfied.
The Democrats are so arrogent right now that it will become their downfall. It always does. Like I said before, it wont be long before they do something that will provide an opportunity for Republicans and Independents to actually stand up and show what needs to be done.
John McCain would never fight back. That is why he lost. He had so many opportunities so bring up alot of things but never did. William Airs, Jeremiah Wright, ETC.
Why not?
The reason Barack won, was because McCain was weak and wouldnt stand up for himself, and also because the election wasnt based on the homeland security, but rather on the economy.
Alas, I as well wish the Republicans had won, but if they wont even fight for themselves, what can you do?
Like you said, just keep on winning souls.
ppphheewwwww...my fingers hurt...lol
Yvonne,
I dont think I am as much an optimist as yourself!..lol. I dont know whether things are going to be just fine in the US either, but still God is in control and if we let him govern our lives, then we shouldnt have to fear.
