A Season Ends

Lately it seems like everything has been going by at a great rate of speed. I guess the saying is "the older you get, the more time flies". EVEN AT A YOUNG AGE! Time becomes more precious to you as you begin to experience life and it sometimes slips away when you don’t notice. You have to begin to value it and cherish it and use it wisely because God has only given us so much time down here to make a difference. Someone once said that the one thing you can never get back is time and I believe it more than ever each day.

Almost 2 years ago an opportunity and time came into my life that would no doubt change it. It was one of those times that I hold dear and AM thankful for and do value. Little did I know I would end up in Nashville later recording an album with the freeWAY Quartet. So many friends made, so many memories filed, so many things learned. I’ve learned better pitch, I’ve learned more of how to use full voice and soft voice, I’ve learned better stage presence and TONS of other things! I have improved. Yet the season has changed once again and with that said, I make my exit.

I am resigning as lead of the freeWAY Quartet.

I have had some of the funnest times of my life and it has been a great ride. Lawrence is such a great guy and has one of the smoothest voices I have ever heard. When we were all sitting around writing verses to one of our songs, I had just written a verse and it came my time to sing it and I forgot the words. He just gave me that look he gives and loudly exclaimed "YOU WROTE THE VERSE"!! Keith is just hilarious. One of the most sensitive people I know when it comes to living for God. Always up for a joke and an unmistakable laugh. Bryce is a giver. He will go out of his way to make anybody feel good no matter what it takes or who they are. A lot of great memories. Bro. and Sis. Allard have a passion for singing like nobody else. They have poured so much into this group and have a burden for it. I hope they go far. Bro. Ken Fitzpatrick has such a burden for young people. If you want vocal training, this is the person to go to. His pursuit of excellence has left me in awe. What an incredible ear and person he is.

I hope the group continues to do well and I wish them the best. I will miss singing with you guys but am looking forward to the next adventure. I have no idea what it is or what it will bring, but I am excited and looking forward to what God has in store.

Thanks to all of you for your support over the last couple of years.

God Bless,

TS

Godly Heritage

I am 5th generation Pentecost. Back in 1911, my Grandpa Mike received the Holy Ghost in Oklahoma. Shortly after, he started evangelizing. Starting churches in several states, (including California), and later on pastoring, he died in 1962 when he suffered a heart attack while preaching in Riverbank. What a heritage I'm thankful for.

Ways to Annoy People

  1. Leave the copy machine set to reduce 200%, extra dark, 17 inch paper, 99 copies.
  2. Specify that your drive through order is "to go."
  3. If you have a glass eye, tap on it occasionally with your pen while talking to others.
  4. Stomp on little plastic ketchup packets.
  5. Insist on keeping your car windshield wipers running in all weather conditions "to keep them tuned up."
  6. Reply to everything someone says with "that's what YOU think."
  7. Practice making fax and modem noises.
  8. Highlight irrelevant information on scientific papers and 'cc' them to your boss.
  9. Make beeping noises when a large person backs up.
  10. Finish all your sentences with the words "in accordance with prophecy."
  11. Signal that a conversation is over by clamping your hands over your ears.
  12. Disassemble your pen and 'accidently' flip the ink cartridge across the room.
  13. Holler random numbers while someone is counting.
  14. Adjust the tint on your TV so all the people are green, and insist to others that you "like it that way."
  15. Staple papers in the middle of the page.
  16. Publicly investigate just how slowly you can make a 'croaking' noise.
  17. Honk and wave to strangers.
  18. Decline to be seated at a restaurant and simply eat their complimentary mints by the cash register.
  19. Buy a large quantity of orange traffic cones and re-route whole streets.
  20. Repeat the following conversation a dozen times: "Do you hear that?" "What?" "Never mind, it's gone now."
  21. Try playing the William Tell Overture by tapping on the bottom of your chin.
  22. When nearly done, announce, "No wait, I messed it up" and repeat.
  23. As much as possible, skip rather than walk.
  24. Ask people what gender they are.
  25. While making a presentation, occasionally bob your head like a parakeet.
  26. Sit in your front yard pointing a hair dryer at passing cars and see if they slow down.
  27. Sing along at the opera.
  28. Go to a poetry recital and ask why each poem doesn't rhyme.
  29. Ask your co-workers mysterious questions and then scribble their answers in a notebook.
  30. Mutter something about 'psychological profiles'.

Celebrate the Season Concert

Sunday night was an incredible time. With a full house of visitors and guests, it was a fun and exciting evening.
It started out with praise and worship and immediately after, the choir began to sing. After the choir, "Thrice Confirmed" sang and I followed. Up next was "Hands of Anointing" who did an incredible job at "Jesus Born on this Day" and "Carol of the Bells". I have to say they did incredible. I would look strange if I tried to do that hand stuff. I can barely focus on keeping the hands on the wheel while I'm driving. (It's really hard when you have a cheesburger and a starbucks in your hands)
Up next was the hilarious "Crunch and Munch". They had everybody in the building laughing like crazy that night. If anybody has ever seen "Bunch and Breeze" you will know what I am talking about.
After them was Luis Lenzi on saxophone. If you know Luis, you would know he is extremely talented on just about every instrument and not just sax. To the point of playing at Ray Charles funeral several years back when he passed on. That same night doing sound for Stevie Wonder.
It was time for Karen Harding. All the way from Nashville, what can I say? So much talent, so much anointing. After she was done, almost everybody was in the alters seeking God. After awhile she took it back over and it turned into a shoutn' service. Incredible, anointed job.
What an awesome night and I know I havent put into words what it was really like but I will post some pics so you can see kind of what happened.
Special thanks to everybody who made this night a complete success!
